What is holistic health counseling?
Health Counseling is a unique and exciting way to discover true health and happiness. I have studied all the major dietary theories (raw foods, macrobiotics, South Beach, Ayurveda, etc.) and will help you find what works best for your body and lifestyle.
Instead of dwelling on calories and carbs and creating ‘no-no’ lists, I work with my clients to create a happy, healthy life in a way that is flexible, fun and free of denial! You will walk away with a better understanding of good/bad carbs, healthy fats, super foods and more. You will also gain a greater sense of self-worth and achieve sustainable change that will enable you reach and exceed your health goals.
Holistic wellness places equal emphasis on the mind, body and spirit. A person can eat the best foods available and exercise regularly, but if they lack meaning or love in their lives, they are not going to experience life at its best.
Similarly, a person with a dream job, a dream house and a dreamy husband will not have the energy to fully appreciate these things if they haven’t exercised in a decade or they can’t recall the last time they ate vegetables!
I like using these examples because we tend to underestimate the mind-body connection. As a counselor, I work with my clients to achieve true balance by eliminating what is not working and encouraging them to make small changes that will impact their life in a big way. Wellness goes beyond diet and exercise; it’s about nourishing yourself with laughter and love. It’s about living the life you were meant to live.
I believe in the power of food, positive thinking, self-awareness and holistic methods of prevention. Our bodies have an extraordinary ability to heal themselves and it’s time to get back to our roots by eating the foods we were meant to eat and reaping the benefits of balance and peace in our personal, spiritual and professional lives.
